Audition

Some Practical Details about applying to join ANÚNA, Ireland's National Choir

  • ANÚNA is a project-based vocal group. Rehearsals take place immediately before a specific project. We do not have a base and therefore there are no ongoing rehearsals.

  • Performers are engaged on a project-to-project basis and work under a non-exclusive contract for services. Fees are dependent on the nature of each project.

Applicants should be over 18.

Before considering audition please note that while there are significant quantities of video and audio recording in the public domain, Anúna is constantly developing, so endeavour to check out more recent recordings of the ensemble. Singers who apply to us should be congnisant of the breadth of our capabilities. We don't fit into any convenient genre of music, and singers with an open musical mind easily find a home here. There are extensive singer bios on this site and we strongly suggest you familiarise yourself with those and what they do before applying.

CLASSICAL VOCAL APPLICANTS :

Note that if you are a classically trained singer we would suggest that you submit audition material in a classical idiom, and that relevant experience to Anúna is reflected in your CV, and highlighted.

NON-CLASSICAL SPECIALIST SINGERS:

These singers should submit material in the idiom they work, however note well that experience within the classical idiom is important, including an ability to sight read to a basic level and being capable of comfortably singing in parts.

What to Submit in an Application

  • An informal CV is acceptable

  • A video with a soundtrack that has not been tuned or with added effects, and not in a resonant space. We need to be able to see your face and upper body clearly.

  • A note on why you want to be part of Anúna

  • Send applications to info@anuna.ie.
