THE ANÚNA Technique

Anúna has travelled on a singular road in the world of vocal music. Over the last two decades we have developed a specific methodology that has evolved from the unique nature of our performance practices and history. These techniques have a universal relevance that can be applied equally to amateur, youth and professional ensembles and solo singers.  Our ideas address the fundamental nature of singing itself in a radical new way that is simple, clear and familiar. Anúna have brought these ideas and techniques all over the world in the last 10 years, facilitating workshops and clinics in Spain, the UK, Belgium, Israel, Iceland, the Netherlands, Poland, Sweden, the USA, Canada, Ireland, Japan and China.

The ANÚNA Technique of performance applies equally to solo vocalists and ensemble singers in a wide variety of genres. Our aim is to create a community of performers that include conductor and singer, a symbiosis based on that unique relationship that has developed over a millennium of choral and vocal music. The ability to communicate with each other sonically and physical is central to our ethos, exploring proactive relationship with strong emphasis on the pillars of the Technique. We currently have two highly successful seasonal schools located in Rotterdam (The Netherlands) and Dublin (Ireland).

As the pandemic allows for more group interaction we are delighted to expand our scope of workshops and residential schools over the next few years. Details of territories and courses to follow.
